Dell G3223Q Review

Why this monitor

What an awesome screen. I use it mainly for work and sometimes for gaming. The matte coating and high refresh rate make it comfortable for long sessions, and it stays easy on the eyes.

Design and ergonomics

Minimalist, clean, and practical. It supports standard VESA mounting, and I especially like Dell’s quick‑release mount that works with the MSA20 display arm and other Dell stands. I sometimes swap monitors for testing, and this mechanism makes it fast and tidy.

Panel and coating

The 32" 4K IPS panel is sharp and the matte anti‑glare coating is excellent—reflections are subdued without a grainy look. Text clarity is great for productivity, and the image is pleasant rather than harsh.

Refresh rate experience

With up to 144 Hz, motion looks smooth. Switching between my MacBook Pro (M3) display and the G3223Q feels natural because both run at high refresh rates; the desktop feels snappy and scrolling is fluid.

Work vs. gaming

For work, this is close to perfect: crisp, comfortable, and consistent. For casual gaming, the 4K/144 Hz combo is a nice bonus.

IPS vs. OLED

Black levels are not OLED‑deep—that is the tradeoff with IPS. I also have an OLED (Alienware AW3425DW) at my sim rig. OLED looks punchy and spectacular, but for all‑day work I find the IPS panel less visually fatiguing and easier to live with.

Verdict

An excellent 32" 4K high‑refresh monitor for productivity with strong casual‑gaming chops. The matte coating, clarity, and ergonomics make it a standout. Rating: 5/5.

Recommendation

If you want a comfortable work display that also handles games well, the G3223Q is an easy recommendation. If inky blacks are your top priority, consider OLED—but for long workdays, this IPS panel is a better balance.
